There is only one Linedance King! Cupid has been making the whole entire world dance for years with his clever dance moves and his soulful , unique voice. Born in Lafayette, Louisiana Cupid was a star athlete in football & track which lead to him running for the University or Louisiana at Lafayette. He began singing, at a very young age at Church and local talent shows and by the time Cupid got to College, his Love for music grew past his desire to run track. After leaving the track team to pursue his music dreams, Cupid began recording music with his School mates in a group called “5th Element”. In 2001, Cupid then decided to go solo recording his first local hit song “Do Yo Thang”. This song was a local hit that created a string of local staples between 2001 & 2005 “Check Yo Girl, Check yo Guy”, “Swing Around the Rosey” & “The BBQ”
In August 2006, Cupid recorded “The Cupid Shuffle” and in 4 months, this song became a regional smash hit. He signed with Atlantic Records January 2007 and he quickly began his National Debut album “Time for a Change”.
The Cupid Shuffle is quite possibly the Biggest Dance song in Music history. Once Cupid left Atlantic, he began to create more music with Dance influence mixed with Tight catchy vocals. The Linedance Community along with Fans of Cupids previous catalog began to spread and in the following years “Love Slide”, “Do it with your boots on” “Old School” & “Wham Dance” added to Cupids Hit List.
His wide-spread appeal has allowed Cupid to tour and perform across different Genres. The Country, Southern Soul, Hip Hop, Pop, Dance world all Love him which allows him to Spread “The Linedance Music” across the globe.
After the pandemic, Cupid picked up where he left off with the Viral Hit “FLEX”. Independently Released, he has reached Near GOLD status. “The Cookout” & “Down South Shuffle” are Certain to follow in the path the Cupid Shuffle has paved.
Cupid is a Certified 5X platinum recording artist. He has spearheaded music Campaigns for Walmart and McDonald’s. He’s also musically been a part of the “Step it up 2” soundtrack, “Jumping the Broom” and “The adventures of Nancy Drew” along with Several TV & Movies.
Cupids dedication and Talent and created “Linedance Music” which is music specifically for line dance. Even when he is doing his traditional R&B music, his brand is so strong that Choreographers around the world create routines for every song Cupid makes. This is proof that he is a living legend.
